About The Lecturer

Tonya McCreary Williams, Esquire

Ms. McCreary Williams, the newly elected Chair of the Board of The Heritage Projects, holds an AAS in Legal Assisting Technology from Columbus State Community College, a BA from Capital University, a JD from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, and an MBA from Franklin University. A member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Columbus Bar Association, and the John Mercer Langston Bar Association, she brings extensive experience in litigation, corporate law, and family law. ​ Her legal career spans work with solo practitioners, international law firms, and service as corporate in-house counsel. She returned to private practice in 2020 after serving in corporate counsel roles and managing political campaigns. In 2016 and 2020, she was elected to the Executive Committee of the Franklin County Democratic Party. ​ An advocate for legal education and community service, she has taught in Columbus State’s ABA-approved Paralegal Program, presented CLEs for the Ohio State Bar Association, and volunteered with civic and legal education organizations. In her free time, she enjoys tennis and international travel, having visited destinations ranging from Machu Picchu to the Pyramids of Egypt.

About The Lecturer

Terrence Scott, Esquire

Terrence Scott served as a Juvenile Magistrate in Franklin County since 2020. He is the Lead Juvenile Magistrate for Franklin County, bringing nearly 18 years of experience in public service and juvenile justice. His extensive legal background includes roles as a Staff Attorney for CASA and the Franklin County Domestic and Juvenile Court, as well as an Assistant State Public Defender in the appellate division. Terrence has litigated cases before the Ohio Supreme Court, the United States 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, and both the Northern and Southern District Court of Appeals.  Additionally, he has volunteered with the Justice for Incarcerated Battered Women Project, where his efforts are featured in the documentary Tragic Refuge. He also led the Juvenile Court Oversight and Reporting Administrator (JCOR) team, focusing on court accountability and reform. Actively involved in several key committees within the Franklin County Domestic and Juvenile Court, Terrence has dedicated over 11 years to coaching middle school mock trial teams and works closely with disadvantaged communities as a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

Kelly Grigsby Jones, Esquire

A battle-tested trial attorney, Kelly Grigsby Jones has represented clients in over 60 jury trials, dozens of bench trials, and hearings or mediations in state and federal courts across Ohio. Kelly has more than 20 years of experience defending commercial transportation, including aviation, trucking, and rapid response, premises liability, personal injury, and insurance bad faith and coverage matters. Kelly also serves as National Coordinating Counsel for a major Fortune 500 healthcare company, handling general liability and commercial transportation matters. Kelly joined the Perez Morris Columbus office in 2022. Prior to joining Perez Morris, Kelly worked at Williams, Moliterno & Scully Co., L.P.A., where she practiced corporate, personal injury, and insurance defense litigation. She represents several top national insurance companies, self-insured corporations, municipal entities, medical, charitable, and educational institutions, and businesses and individuals in various civil matters. Kelly frequently lectures on trial skills as a member of the American Board of Trial Attorneys (ABOTA) and the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys, and previously served as an adjunct professor for first and second-year law students in a CORE Lawyering Skills course at Case Western Reserve University. She also served as a judicial staff attorney for the Honorable Lillian J. Greene for the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. Kelly lives in Westerville, Ohio, with her husband Tony. She enjoys ballroom dancing, book clubs, international travel, and biking on the amazing trails Columbus has to offer.
